ADDED on JUNE 27th, 2017
Pending selling out before or reaching rehearsal capacity (participants are doing great!), registration will CLOSE at midnight on 7/9/17. This means, if you have not:
- registered,
- attended a rehearsal/going to attend the last rehearsal,
- AND bought your ticket/plan to,
you will not have the opportunity to dance on court on July 13th.

#1- Rehearsals
- You'll need to attend ONE rehearsal before July 13th. That's GREAT because we hear from past participants that this is a super fun part! Please indicate which rehearsal you'll attend and order your commemorative T-shirt when you register on Eventbrite - CLICK HERE.
- Minor(s) (9-17 years of age) must be accompanied by parent/legal guardian who is dancing with them. Unattended and/or minors under 9 years of age are not allowed.
- Please review Release/Waiver & Terms of Use. We'll have a copy available for you to sign (See #2 below).
Rehearsal Date Opportunities:
- Sunday, June 25th, 12-2pm (Sherman Oaks) - COMPLETED.
- OR Saturday, July 1st, 1-3pm (West LA) - COMPLETED.
- OR Thursday, July 6th, 8:30-10:00pm (Sherman Oaks) - COMPLETED/Closed. Please register for a later rehearsal.
- OR Saturday, July 8th, 12-2pm (Glendale)
- OR Sunday, July 9th, 2-4pm (West LA)
- More may be added.
Rehearsal Locations:
- Glendale, Luna Dance Center, CHANGED AS OF 7/7/17 to a few doors down! 462 West Colorado St. Glendale, CA 91204. According to Luna, the owner, the best parking is at Target and walk few buildings down or street parking. HOWEVER, as usual, READ SIGNS! *At your own risk!
- Sherman Oaks, Blanks Studios, 15030 Ventura Blvd., Ste. 19 (in corner), Sherman Oaks, 91403. Parking: Street and some neighborhood. Parking lot gets full FAST and only allows 1-hour! *At your own risk. ****Doublecheck, but meters seem to be free on Sundays and after certain hours. READ THE SIGNS/METERS!
- West LA, LA Dancefit Studio , 10936 Santa Monica Blvd ., Los Angeles, CA 90025. Parking: Metered street parking directly in front of the studio (free on Sunday) and in the surrounding residential area. There is a small tandem parking lot at the back of the studio. Please read signs. *At your own risk

You agree:
- To wear appropriate footwear (rubber soles-non-marking! e.g., tennis shoes) for safe dancing at both rehearsals and event.
- To KEEP YOURSELF HYDRATED and food-fueled! Water! Water! Water! Bring it with you! Snacks! Bring them with you!
- To wear clothing that protects you from wardrobe malfunctions and allows you to dance. Be you! Just make sure you are dressed "family friendly" (OK for all ages)
- That you are in good health and able to participate in this event. If you have a pre-existing medical condition that may be aggravated by dancing or attending this event, it is your responsibility to attain your doctor's approval before taking part in this event.
- To take care not to cause injury to self or others.
- To NOT CHEW GUM at rehearsals or at the event.
- To conduct yourself with due regard to public conventions, morals and laws (e.g., keep the free-style sections "family friendly")
- That the event team has the right to ask anyone to leave or not participate for any cause.
- To check in at rehearsals and event.
- To stretch out and warm up before we #ShakeIt!
- To take care of my body, which may mean adjusting steps for any limitations. Your body takes care of you, so take of it, too!

#6 - Day of / July 13th
Woohooo!
What you need to know...
KEEP IT ALL "FAMILY FRIENDLY" (meaning appropriate clothing and dance moves for all ages to witness)
WARDROBE for those dancing:
- #ShakeIt T-shirt (red) and any pants (colors and patterns are OK!) as long as they cover, you can dance in them (e.g., blue jeans, yoga pants). Be you. Be comfortable.
- No shorts.
- NO IDENTIFIABLE BRAND LOGOS, SLOGANS, MESSAGES on clothes/accessories you plan to wear on court/on film, or you may need to turn them inside out, tape over, or cover so they aren't recognizable/identifiable. (If you can recognize the logo or word from across a regular sized room, it could be too big to be filmed.)
- No hard heeled shoes, or you won't be allowed on court. Rubber sole! Non-marking! (E.g., tennis shoes)
- Yes, you may bring scissors (though likely not allowed in Staples Center) to cut shirts before 5/5:30pm court placement--Leaving sponsor logos intact, please!
- WEAR #SHAKEIT t-shirt for both day of 5pm placement AND halftime show. Both to be filmed.
- Court access is subject to Staples/Sparks approval!
VALUABLES, GO LIGHT! (I use these opportunities to bring fanny packs back in style!).
- If your belongings are not ON you during the performance, we will leave our belongings in the backstage tunnels. No one actively supervises our things and no lockers are provided. Keep it simple. Leave the precious stuff at home; bring only what you truly need.
STAPLES PARKING: *Make sure you are OK to be parked in whatever lot you parked in until after the game and pay accordingly. ASK!
- Plan accordingly so you don't miss check-in/are not late.
REMINDER: THIS IS A WNBA BASKETBALL GAME!
- YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF, your safety and your conduct--and your minor's--at ALL TIMES during this LA Sparks game and rehearsals.
WHAT ARE THE RULES OF STAPLES CENTER?

Schedule:
- Approx. 4:00-5:00pm, arrival & check-in with #ShakeIt at the Staples Center 11st Street Entrance (corner of Chick Hearn Court and Georgia Street - Click here for Google Map directions). Dance participants receive a #ShakeIt commemorative T-shirt, while supplies last. Please wear a red top in case supplies run out. Please plan for the unexpected and get there a few before 5pm or you may miss out!
- NOTE: Family and friends who are NOT dancing cannot attend court placement. They're considered game attendees and will be allowed to enter when doors open 1-hour prior/at 6:30pm.
- Around 4:45pm, check-in with LA Sparks begins: Sparks will require their liability waivers to be signed.
- Present your already PRINTED LA Sparks game ticket for entry. Note: this is not your #ShakeIt Eventbrite registration.
- 5:30pm (approx), on court placement. This is the only opportunity the group will have to practice on the court, thus all performers must attend. We will review entry/exit procedures, dance choreography, and final routine details.
- YOU CANNOT EXIT STAPLES CENTER (Staples has a NO RE-ENTRY Policy)
- 7:30pm, gametime!
- HALFTIME PREP: At the END OF THE FIRST QUARTER, all performers must meet in the concourse across from sections 111/112 (this is inside the 11th Street Entrance where we entered). Please do not be late; no guests will be allowed downstairs backstage.
- AFTER HALFTIME SHOW ENDS, enjoy the remainder of the LA Sparks game on your own and with your friends/family!
